Vote buying

Vote buying has been a practice from the beginning of time.

Politicians that believe they have to win an election with a "do or die" mentality will do anything to gain or hold onto power.

Giving money in exchange for votes is done without the slightest shred of decency...

If we don't take strong action to stop vote buying, our fledgling democracy might stay that way.

Those that were arrested by EFCC in the just concluded election in Osun would be left off the hook.

I am not really sure if anybody has been prosecuted for electoral offences ...

The effects of vote buying are numerous: It would not allow for transparency thereby allowing wrong individuals to be in the corridor of power.
This acts must stop...

Manufacturer Association of Nigeria threatened to shut down

 Nigeria manufacturers associations have threatened to shut down because of the high cost of diesel, the inconsistent supply of power, and the numerous taxes.


The fact that most manufacturing companies have since moved to bordering countries is no longer news.

The handful that are still around are battling to stay in operation. They also face difficulties with access to foreign currency.

Unbelievably, the economy is in trouble, and the government appears to be struggling.

What's the next step for us?

Governance is about finding solutions to problems, and if the government doesn't deal with these urgent problems, the consequences will not be pleasant.

If the economy is not restored, there may be further job losses after the current ones.
