Demise of lawmaker representing Plateau States Haruna Maitala with some other occupants of the vehicle on his way to Jos from Abuja is another avoidable death caused by bad governance.

The driver of the vehicle was reported to have veered off the road in an attempt to avoid pot holes lining the roads.

 Most of our roads remains in the state of disrepair despite huge government budget  earmarked for roads construction.

In some instances the quality of roads constructed leaves much to desire.

 Infrastructure deficit  is the reasons why many investors from diaspora find it difficult to pitch their tent in our country.

Government agencies saddle with responsibility of road maintenance should wake up to their responsibility.

Those voted to make laws for their constituencies should ensure money budgeted for roads construction are judiciously utilize.

May the soul of departed rest in peace. 

 

 

  

One inferno too many!

 People keep loosing their source of livelihoods to inferno year in-year out. There is  no year that passes without records of shops on fire. Most of the time, the cause of these incidences is human related. We live in a country where people do not comply with simple safety standard .

May God help us.

My Train experience..

Standard Guage railway initiative is laudable. It is going to ease movement from one place to another.

The train took off from Alagomeji Terminus by exactly 8.30am.

No Africa time....

Within few minutes of departure we have covered long distance since there is no hold up.

The announcer gave some instructions every passengers should abide with. One of the instructions is that any passenger who fail to wear his face mask properly will be arrested.

It was an awesome experience as we pass through many train stations. The few train station mentioned are Kajola, Olodo, Laderin and finally Moniya.

Every passengers alighted at Moniya.

My candid advice to government is that on going constructions of all train stations should be concluded in a record time. Maintenance culture of the fleet should be of top priority.

How government should administer covid 19 vaccine

Nigeria had taken delivery of first batch of covid-19 drugs.

The vaccine landed on our shores some couple of days ago..

Government should ensure the vaccines is evenly distributed among each geo political zones.

Covid-19 has caused a lot of death among the high and the mighty. Also, the poor are not spared.

Some advanced countries of the world are administering the vaccines systematically on their citizens. We can also take cue from them.

It will not be in our best interest or best practises to ask people to queue up in the sun because they want to receive covid 19 vaccines.

Also, agency in charge of drugs should ensure the vaccines is not counterfeited.

I also want to believe, more supply will arrive if we can use this one Judiciously.

Unemployed youths should be conscripted..

If government is really serious about fighting banditry, it should not be a big deal.

Now, it is obvious that we are under police and the number of men enlisted in other security apparatus are not enough to combat crime effectively.

In a country where most of our youths are unemployed, government should conscripts some of them that are capable into armed forces.

We have financial muscles and human resources to prosecute this war. It is un heard off that some unscrupulous individuals would hold us to ransom.

It is also unthinkable that some few individuals would bring a sovereign nation to her kneel.

We have to wake up and do the needful.

Making bandits rich

The state of Insecurity in our Schools leaves much to desire. 

Bandits struck and kidnapped many children and heavy ransom is placed on them. 

Government all the time pays heavily to secure the release of these children thereby making the bandits rich. 

These criminals use large chunks  from the proceeds of crime to buy ammunition and arms preparatory for further kidnapp.

Aside from the facts that these criminals have foreign back up and sponsors,  government directly or indirectly encourage them to continue in crime and criminality 

If government can use part of the money given to bandits to strengthen our security architecture, then Insecurity will become a thing of the past.

Kidnapping has become lucrative by government action or inaction, paying lip service to stem it's tide will take us nowhere.
